************

I'm posting to announce that my dear friend :iconsimplecoffee: and I have just opened condition_green, a brand-new community on livejournal TOS Kirk and hurt/comfort centered, because we came to the conclusion that the lovely golden cap'n (played by the one and only William Shatner) doesn't ever get enough love. This is our way to amend that.

Any kind of fanwork is accepted there, both yours and not: fanvids, fanfiction, icons, gifs, images... whatever you think could do it.

If you're interested, please fill our friending meme you can find by clicking here condition-green.livejournal.co… or on the banner below; if you're not sure, please just drop by and remember, you don't need to join to comment, though that would make our day!

IT'S SHARE TIME!

Rules:
1. For each of the 10 FIRST people answering this journal, I will put their avatar and the three deviations I like most from their gallery on the list!
2. If you answer, you have to do the same in your journal, putting me on the first place (if you feel like doing it). The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!

-------

I'm here to pay a well deserved tribute to one of the most witty and lovely and awesome artists around here. That is :iconberende:, guys.

I managed to have some of my horrible deviations published on her journal. This still gives me the shivers! I've not many deviation published yet, so I hope it wasn't too awful for her to choose. -.-'

Anyway, now that I need to return the favour, it IS difficult for me to choose some, as a lot of her beautiful art made my day in different moments of my life. This means that, instead of three, I'm going to feature four of her works I most loved, because, you know, she's awesome and all. But mind you, they could have been five, or six, or...

Here they are:

- 100 by Berende   - Lesson Five by Berende   - Always by Berende   - To Boldly Go by Berende

The first and the second are just lovely and so true that I could picture them clearly among the TOS canon episodes, and I love these chibis and their characterization both physical and psychological; the third is a choice from my (not too) repressed passion for Harry Potter, and the mood which it inspires is something that left me open-mouthed; the four is totally, wonderfully LOVE. And epic too. Plus, little Jim's expression is almost as cute as the adult one's. :aww:

-----------

By the way, now I'll do the same for the FIRST TEN who will comment here, I'll choose three of your deviations and put them here visible for all. Though I highly doubt ten people would end up here long enough (or end up here at all) to comment. Anyway, be my guest if you please! ;)

ST TOS: This Above All, ch. 2Title: This Above All (Chapter 2: Scotty and Uhura)
Rating: T
Word count: 812 (this chapter)
Warnings: none…
Pairings: Scotty/Uhura (this chapter). Because.
Summary: Five times Jim Kirk went all Shakespeare on his crew, and one time they went all Shakespeare back on him.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Trek because STAR TREK OWNS EVERYTHING. (Did I ever mention my puns are kinda lame?)
A/N: Set sometime after A Taste of Armageddon, maybe before Space Seed.
A normal day at work. A delightful holo-message from home.
An evening rendezvous on the deserted – by chance? – observation deck.
She knew that the no-fraternization rules were inviolable, and kept – by none, incidentally, so rigorously as the captain – inviolate; tonight, Nyota let herself dare to hope.
He came to her out of the shadows –

It was hard. Really. There's so much love in that gallery... Well, I chose the first because it's one of the most lovely and heartfelt writings I've ever read, and it literally inspired me; the second because it stresses something that too often goes unnoticed but is totally true about captain James T Kirk; the third because of the pensive mood and the poem I love which goes well with said captain, and is something else that should be noticed more often. Besides, that's the icon which made me know simplecoffee (but I love them all, my dear, mind you!). :aww:

2 - :iconriseofdarkfire:

Legacy League by RiseofDarkFire    Against the Tide by RiseofDarkFire    I Talk of Beauty by RiseofDarkFire

The first conveys to me grace and a kind of equilibrium I really like; I chose the second because the colour got me as the dust effect and the dark-light contrast did; the third because I find it simple but someway effective, besides almost anything vaguely resembling Shakespeare is welcome. And so she won't say that is the 'Junk That Nobody Wants To Look At'. :)

3 - :iconpromus-kaa:

1. Argument with a Captain by Promus-Kaa   Captain Kirk by Promus-Kaa   TOS Trek - Clipboard Prop by Promus-Kaa

I chose the first one because really, that is the epic encounter that haunts the dreams of lots and lots of sci-fi fans, and is represented in a strong and meaningful way. Oh, and stop making war over Trek and Wars, they're both awesome! The second one is the sincere homage of a purist trekker as I am and therefore deserves respect, besides, the comment below speaks utter truth. =D The last one is full of win! I'd bet even the original cast couldn't tell that is not an original prop, and that is obviously a work done with love. :)

Now I am in.
University claims me. Wait. Maybe it doesn't! Probably they don't give a damn if I am spending my best days on books or I'm not.
Anyway, now I study engineering. Yay! Like my papa. I love my papa.
I've been thinking I should like Physics, but really, I don't. Not that much, anyway. So I chose Engineering.
I'm on holiday now, and I'd say, it was about time! University here starts in October, and I hope all goes well.
Wish me good luck! =D

On a different point, I've just figured out how to produce some not-totally-dislikeable digital drawings, and even if it really takes AGES to be completed, I'm going to try that again in future. Star Trek still does give me a lot of inspiration, and James Kirk too. Actually, more Jim Kirk than Star Trek. Still, I love the show, and every little detail excites me to no end!

I'm so a romantic fangirl! ;P

So I am alive. If you were asking.
And quite free if you wanted to know.
Yes, I've been very busy for a long time and I'll probably be again in a few weeks.

But really, I've never felt so inspired. I've never considered myself an artist, but I'm starting to think I can do something really good if I just learn how to do it. But I know I won't have enough time.

How can artists live when they know what to d but they don't know how to do it? Or they always do?

I really hope to carry out all the ideas I have in mind.

:)
